The XLIFF Tools project was initiated in 2005 with the aim of encouraging the adoption of the XML Localisation Interchange File Format (XLIFF) in open source localisation processes.

• Tools:

  • Xliff Tools Java: Java-based XLIFF-PO converters

  • Translate Toolkit: Python based XLIFF converters and XLIFF manipulation tools

  • Xlifftool : c-based XLIFF-PO converters (this is project is basically dead)

  • Pootle: Python based online translation workflow tool that can manage and translate XLIFF files.

  • Okapi Framework: Includes Java-based XLIFF filter as well as utilities to extract/merge various formats to XLIFF

  • XLIFFChecker is an open source tool written in Java that checks compliance of XLIFF files with the official standard published by OASIS.
