Background

As part of the deliverables for the upcoming revised XLIFF charter, the XLIFF Technical Committee is working on defining XLIFF Representation Guides for common file formats. One of these deliverables is a 'PO File Representation Guide'.

The XLIFF PO Guide sub-project aims to develop a best-practice guide for representing the various features of the PO file format in XLIFF. This guide will then be submitted to the XLIFF Technical Committee as a proposal for the PO File Representation Guide.

In addition, the XLIFF PO Tools and XLIFF Tools Java sub-projects aim to develop implementations of this guide.
